Lev Manovich (San Diego, USA) is an Associate Professor in the Visual Arts Department at the University of California, San Diego, where he teaches course in new media art and theory. He is the author of "The Language of New Media" and the artist of "Soft Cinema" which has been exhibited at the ZKM in Karlsruhe. He is currently artist in residence at BALTIC. [SC 2003]
